From looking online I feel like I'm getting mixed results on which card is better, plus I know none of these reviews take the two cards I'm looking at into consideration.

So between these two cards, which do you think is better? I use the video card for gaming, Crysis, FarCry 2, SCII, Sup Com 2 etc...

SAPPHIRE Toxic 100282-2GTXSR Radeon HD 5850

Sapphire 100314-2SR Radeon HD 6870

I'm running that 5850 right now. The 6870 looks to be a damn good deal to me. I posted a message on here last week inquiring what people thought would be a good choice over a 5750 for 150 bucks. Well, if this 6870 isn't better than the 5850 I'll probably end up getting it anyway to replace that 5750... Thoughts?

Oh, one more thing you guys might want to know. My current monitor is a 27' Asus running 1920x1080. I also use this machine on my 50' Plasma... 1080p obviously.

If you already have a 5850 there is no reason for you to upgrade to a 6870 IMO. You will not *notice* any performance difference. You would have to at least get a 6950 to notice a performance boost.

Gotcha, I wasn't sure on it. Plus the 5850 I have has 2 GB of RAM on it, and it's the Toxic version so it's also OC'ed. Thanks for the reply Mrrogers. I ordered the card to replace the 5750 though. So it's not a loss.
