I currently have a Gigabyte 6870 with the stock reference. Love the card really no complaints or anything except the noise. In regular windows its fine but I hate the noise it makes when I am gaming. Yes I know they are going to make noise but it seems like with all the new aftermarket coolers on the market coming on cards these days there must be something more quiet out there. So I am in the market looking for a new video card. I would really like to go back to Nvidia this time. The only game I play on this machine is World of Warcraft. I use a 22" monitor also. So what would you recommend in a Nvidia format that would play the game on max, all settings on high Dx11 etc. But remain quiet and low power?

If you are looking for lower power usage / lower temps and more performans from nvidia. Currently you are looking at gtx670. However it is overkill for World of Warcraft. If you insist on nvidia You might wanna wait for upcoming lower tier gtx6**.. OR get a gtx560ti with a good cooler, which must have approx equal power draw and quiter and cooler than your stock 6870..

On the AMD side though, you are looking at a 7850.

Ya I have been reading since I posted this and it seems like the 7850s are the way to go, and from what I have been reading they seem to be fairly quiet also.

yeah, 7850 offers a great Price/performance ratio, you shuold go for it, as Nvidia does not have a similar solution

Yeah get the HD 7850. can clock easily 1050 Mhz at stock volts. clock for clock its slower by 5 - 8% compared to HD 7870. but 100 bucks cheaper. best price perf card. Let me give you an idea of 7850 at 1 GHz.

HD 7870 (1 Ghz) - 47.5

BF3 1920 x 1200 4X AA
HD 7850 (1 Ghz ) - 45.4
HD 7870 (1 Ghz ) - 49.5
HD 7850 (1245) - 50.2
GTX 580 - 51.7

HD 7850 has quite a few advantages. good performer at stock clocks. 2GB VRAM. excellent overclocker. Very power efficient. a OC'd HD 7850 will draw less than 150w and get you close to GTX 580 perf. :)

OP, please list all of your specs when starting a thread like this. also list the resolution of your monitor not the size.
