6870 in XPS 420?

My XPS 420 is unmodified but am looking to buy an XFX Double D 6870. I know the length will fit, but I'm concerned about the height. Since the board is a BTX board, the GFX card would be mounted upside down. Right above this is the casing for the CPU cooler. It looks like it would barely clear it, but am curious if anyone else has a similar "large" card such as this and if there was clearance. Thanks.

Just based on eye-balling the PCI bracket, it looks like it will fit. The DD XFX 6870 runs flush with the top of the mounting bracket except for a few pipes that stick out the sides. The pipes aren't that tall, so it looks like you'll have a bit of room for them.

Should be fine i had a 6850 in my dell 420.

This is the only thing you should be concerned about OP. The height is fine, because it uses two slots and you have two slots. The width issue is a little iffy though, I'm not 100% sure if it'll fit.
