6870 Crossfire Eyefinity graphics problem (video inside)

Hello guys,

I emailed AMD technical support and posted this issue on the AMD forums and haven't gotten any answers. I'm posting this here so that people who are planning on buying AMD cards for a Crossfire Eyefinity setup be aware of the possible issues they may face.

Topic Summary: 7680x1440 works fine, 2560x1440 gets display corruption

I recently bought three Samsung S27A850D screens for an Eyefinity setup. Ironically, 7680x1440 works fine, but 2560x1440 doesn't work with Crossfire enabled. Both work fine with Crossfire disabled.

This happens in all the games that I've tried so far: Dragon Age II, Starcraft II, and Battlefield 3.

I'm using 11.12. The same issue persists on 12.1a.

Specs:

i7 950 @ 3.84 GHz
Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3
6 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz
2x HIS Radeon 6870 1 GB Turbo Crossfire
Windows 7 64bit

Update:

The displays were connected to the card in the bottom PCI-E slot.

Connected a single diplay to the card in the top PCI-E slot. Games in 2560x1440 Crossfire work fine.

Connected the other two displays to the card in the top PCI-E slot. Ran Windows extended desktop. Games in 2560x1440 Crossfire work fine.

Enabled Eyefinity Display Group. Same problem. Disabled Eyefinity Display Group. Same problem.

Still no answer from AMD. It's been over 48 hours since I emailed tech support.
