So I have been receiving random "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding" errors while playing Bulletstorm and Just Cause 2. The screen would simply freeze, and would be resolved with a CTRL/ALT/DEL, then hopping back into the game. Today I ran the WEI assessment in Windows 7 (64-bit) and it gave me the error too. The test kept running and it didn't seem like it caused an issue since the assessment completed.
I tried updating and reinstalling the latest Catalyst drivers.
Backed off V-card overclock
Added a hair more voltage to CPU through the BIOS
Set V-card back to stock settings
None of these worked. However, I found something interesting. I was originally running without a paging file since I have 16gb of ram. For shits and giggles I set the paging file and low and behold I haven't had a crash since.
Purpose of the thread - To offer people searching the interwebs a possible solutions since I have read about people replacing their powersupply or RMA-ing their cards due to this error. Hope this helps someone!
