I read a review a while back that said that the Nvidia 680i has a feature that can automatically overclock itself including the memory (Trying to find it again). Has anyone ever tried it? Also I went to the Nvidia site to look up compatible memory. There was a long list, but the numbers didn't look like retail info. I figured this would be good for a gamer like me who hasn't overclocked but wouldn't mind the added free speed benefit.

Google for Linkboost but you need memory with EPP to take advantage afaik

Yeah, I wasn't sure how to match the memory on the Nvidia list with memory from Newegg for example. I guess I'm trying to figure out if I should buy the $250 680i board or buy a $150 board. I'll be getting a e6600, new memory, and already have the 8800 gts.

It's not a big overclock by any means. The most you'll get is a 5% cpu when set on auto. I tried it once, it took my 2.93ghz X6800 to 3.07ghz! Man, was it fast. ;)
