I play css (cs:source) well, test it at 1600x1200 with everything maxed 16x af and 6x aa and i only get around 20-30 fps? wtf? my drivers are 61.77 and here the benchies shows i should be getting way more than 20-30 at 1600x1200 with everything maxed!?!? help!
 
yeah others are having this problem

my roomate gets like 25 fps on an amazing system as well (and hes running it at 1024x768)

ive seen people with 9800 xts getting bad fps like that also on 1gb 3ghz systems. So its not just an Nvida thing, although most of the time it seems like its nvida cards that have problems

I just hope its a beta thing and not present in the final prodcut. Because if it is that is very very bad.

Theres a thread on gotfrag about it, people post there systems and fps. There were several 3ghz+ and 1gb ram+ systems with 9800pros, 6800s and 5950ultras etc getting 20-30fps in source beta.

They better get this fixed
 
6X on most systems is just too much. 20-30FPS isn't that bad. Especially not in the newer games.
 
you would think with a 3ghz system 1-2gb of corsair xms ram and a $400 vid card you could play CS:Source (which is supposed to be less graphicly intenstive than doom 3) at 1024x768 at 60fps at least with soem AA and AF
 
aZn_plyR the bad news is 6xAA on the Geforce cards' is a left-over from the older cards' and isn't nearly as good as 4xAA or even 2XAA (I believe.) You should be able to do 6xAA easily (what you're looking for is "8xS" - that's the highest I think.)

Secondly I had similar problem's with my 6800Ultra - it could be a config problem or something. Try re-formatting?

Also remember to look in your Geforce graphics options - check everything is at the level you want *or* set it to "application preference" if possible.
 
well i found the problem... turn the aa down to 4x and shot up to 80 fps

Why are you complaining seriously, that is pretty good performance.
 
the only reason i am complaining is because on the benchmarks i read somewhere it says that if i go with these settings i should be getting 60+fps, but then i found out the 6800ultra is not very compatible with aa on 6x, 4x is the max, besides te 8xs thingy, but when i set it to 4x, fps almost triples. so i found my problem ;)
 
Yes, like Blad said, 6x is a legacy leftover. Still, your problem is a strange one as under 6xAA you should be getting higher FPS than on 4xAA [Current 4xAA does more work and looks better than legacy 6xAA]. It was probabely just some driver incompatabilty or something. You should install some beta drivers and see if the problem persits.
