I am thinking about getting a BFG 6800Ultra in about a month or so and i'm wondering if my PSU will be able to handle it. It's an Antec TruBlue 350W (came w/ my lanboy)

So do you guys think that it'll work without any problems or will i have to get a new one?

Here's what the rest of the system will be like...

A64 3500+
Asus A8V
BFG 6800U
2x512mb Samsung PC2700
200gb Seagate
SB Live 5.1
2 case fans
1 dvd-r and cdrom

Thx in advance :)

it's possible if you mod the powersupply to cool it better or find a program to increase the fan speeds

it'll be fine....just don't expect to overclock it mirically..like u need to anyways :)\

but really...to be safe..i would really get a 6800gt....

u have 2 optical drives or one? it's a lil confusing.

As for PSU, u should really look up how many amps does it supply on +12v rail. Anything below 18 would be pushing ur luck. 18-20 should just barely enough, and anything above is sufficient

I believe the Antec TruBlue series is the same spec as their TruePower series. If that is the case, I would say you should be fine, as always though double check your numbers, but a quality 350watt PSU goes a long way compared to junk 480watt ones.

One thing to mention though is to make sure each molex connector is connected to different leads.

nah Antec frequently changes the specs on their PSUs, so a different batch of the same model PSU might have different specs. Usually, newer ones have higher ratings (noticed on 2 occasions)

Sorry i meant 2 optical drives.

Thx everyone, looks like i would probably be getting a new psu. I'm planning on oc'ing so i guess it's better to just get a new one. :)
