Sorry if this has been posted before

I am happy with gaming at 1024 resolution, bc if i go higher my processor wont be able to take it. So Which card should I look for? the OC or GT? I think i would have serious reservations about spending $400 on a fucking video card. Its the principle to me...im not going to be raped by the video card industry. But if the OC is garbage let me know. THX
 
6600 means new motherboard and possibly CPU/RAM. I'd go for the plain 6800.
 
Wow, that's a NICE price on a 6800 GT... seems almost fishy (too good to be true)... if only I had that budget for a card right now... and it was the dual dvi version... (and I had the budget for two LCDs... HA!)

The principle? Look, you get what you pay for these days. A video card such as a 6800 Ultra is a complicated and expensive card to manufacture. Considering that it has 220 million transistors (twice as many and some change more than a Pentium 4 processor) it's not going to be cheap. High end gaming cards cost alot of money. It's a fact. Theres no principle to it. That's the way it works.

If you don't want to spend the coin on the higher end card then don't. But don't think of it as rape. Rape is newegg charging $700 for a $500 card.

The OC is a good card. Is it as fast as a GT or an Ultra. No it isn't. Will it play every game out there? Yes. Will it do it at 1600x1200 with 4x AA and 16x AF? No.

High end computer parts=expensive. Get over it.

And you said the word "Fucking" in your first post. Which your kids could just as easily see. If they were looking at the screen while you were scrolling through the posts.

This is a public forum. We don't have to censor ourselves. If you don't want your children to see the word "fucking" You probably want to keep them away from rated R films and the internet.

PS: I have no idea what set me off about this post. Maybe it was him swearing in his own post and telling us not to. Yeah that was probably it.

Not even that is rape. If you are willing to pay $700 for it then it's totally voluntary and thus not "rape." There is no such thing as overcharging.
