6800OC Locking up.

I just opened my bfg 6800OC and im playing World of Wrcraft and i go into a few zomes and i have a 3 sec lag like its loading. All AA and stuff is off. So i try another game UT2k4. Same thing. I have updated drivers, tried beta. everything. Anyone else getting this or know how to fix? Thanks.
 
so is it locking up or just hitching up every now and then? You said you had the latest drivers but you may want to try the beta drivers for the heck of it. I have had hitching problems but its usually at the begging of a level when its still loading. And if it was during the game its was usually cuz the graphic setting were to high. The worse case though you may have a bad card, but dont jump to that conclusion just yet. One more thing, did you have a ATI or Nvidia card before going to the 6800OC?
 
Its locks for 3-5 seconds and then goes to the game. Yes i have an ati 9600xt in there before this today. i uninstalled any ATI i could find.


[edit] I tried nVidia beata display drivers.
 
you may want to try out Driver Cleaner. It can help tons when switching between different card makers. I did it on mine and it helped. I believe you can get it at Guru3d's website. Basically uninstall your Nvidia drivers and then boot into safemode and use driver cleaner to remove everything then re-install the Nvidia drivers again.
 
it might be a little too late for driver cleaner now, but it is worth a try. Next step is to clean install windows
 
are you uesing a nvidia mb? i hade the same thng hapen to me wint my nforce 3 mb then i updated my mb chipset drivs and it went away
