ive been very happy with 128mb xpertvision 6800nu i bought while back, o/c 410/930+ stock cooling, runs 100% with 16,6 pipes.. gives me 5k+ 3dmark05 with my outdated cpu/mobo..

but my friend wants to buy my card for $180.. (i bought it for $230 so i dont care) n im thinkin of buyin 256mb xpertivision 6800gt for $280.. now my quest is, how much performance diff betw two cards? would i notice any diff on games i play? say if i can o/c to ultra level, what kind of 3dmark03/05 score can i expect? i get 12k on 3dmark03 atm.

probably somewhere around 6000+ u'll probably see like 1500 or something difference... depending on how well u oc that gt

yeah i guess it all comes down to o/c.. at stock speed it prob wont be much faster than my current card o/ced. i just saw the average 6800gt score from this forum is less than 5k! from 150 results. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=813955&page=56&pp=20
i think ill be happy if i can get 6k. hopefully ill get another one that can o/c high. :)

anyone having prob o/c gt to ultra level?

actually by lookin at others results i dont think i can get 6k unless i can o/c the gt reallly high..

just say if i can o/c the 6800gt to 410/1150.. how much performance gain from 230mhz increse in memory, and 256mb ddr3? 10%?

Your 6800NU has 128 mb DDR RAM. Thats only difference. Like You have allready unlocked pipes and OC is good hence it works pretty fast and it's allmost a GT/Ultra card stock preformance.
Stock with My 6800GT with 3000+ Winne and 1 GB ram I'm in sub 5000 marks in 3Dmark2005. That's not OC-ed GPU and non OC-ed CPU.
Also I'm at sub 11K at 3Dmark2003 at stock speeds.

There is a chance You want be able to OC GT more then 400 MHz and memory pass 1100 MHz. Hence only positive thing from more exprencive card is 256 MB DDR3 and few more MHz. It want bring You much FPS difference in real life gaming. Maybe if it OC good in benchmark but not in gaming.

People who gett GT are those who mostly don't care about OC and want their pipes unlocked for shure and need card that can work for years. Those people want warranty to.

If You still want to go GT way take some that mostly OC well. Liek read on Forum wich cards doo OC.

youd probably get 6k im at ~5.8k with 2.1ghz on my cpu while you are runnin what 2.5ghz+? 400mhz nice little boost in score you should hit 6k, but then again im also runnin 460/1.2ghz on my 6800u. What drivers are you using on your 6800

looks like i can get elsa 6800gt for similar price.. anyone got this card? any good?

just FYI, 6800GT core has a overclock ceiling of ~430-435mhz due to only having a single molex. After that it tends to power throttle and benchmarks get slower.
