Hello, I just bought a Radeon 9800Pro 128mb at best buy. I've had it for about a week and was looking around on the net last night and saw the Nvidia 6800nu for around $285.
What I'm wondering is, is the 6800nu better than the 9800Pro by a noticable margin? I play some games, but not many, it's mostly graphics applications. At this time I can't afford much more than the 6800nu but I notice that eVGA has a 90 day trade up program that I could use if I want more than the base 6800 down the line.
Price wise, the 6800 will be about $30 more than the 9800 since I had to pay tax on the Radeon and won't with the Nvidia. The reason I ask is that I'll have to take it out of my computer and drive to Best Buy again.
I've looked for reviews but can't really find anything that had the nu version of the 6800 nor much that compares the two cards. Sorry for what is likely a common question but I appericiate any help.
Thanks,
Tony
ETA: My system is:
P4 2.0a
512mb ram
Intel D845BG MB
I'm in the process of upgrading and am starting with the Vid. Card. Next month will be the Proc. & MB, then Ram. I'm looking at the AMD Athlon64 3200+ and the related MB with 2gb+ Ram.
