Hi,

I'm interested in what sort of performance ppl are getting when playing Thief: Deadly Shadows using the nvidia 6800 cards. I went from using an ATI 9800pro in a shuttle system (SN85G4v2, amd 64 3400+, 1gb corsair C2 ram, audigy 2) up to a BFG 6800 GT OC recently. The former ran Thief smoothly enough in 1024x768 with shadows and bloomage on full, no probs at all. Naturally with the faster 6800 I expected better things: 3dmark benchies are fantastic at stock speeds - scoring 11,650 3dmark03 and 23,500 3dmark01 - as is Doom3 running nice and smooth at 1600x1200. Far Cry seemed slow in 1600x1200 with full detail and fsaa set to low, but installing the 1.2 patch seemed to improve performance here no end. However, using FRAPS in Thief reveals slowdown in places to less than 30fps in 1280x1024 using bloom and full shadows - no fsaa - and performance gets even more ugly in 1600. 1024x768 is nice and consistently smooth, but even my old radeon could manage this (though I never benchmarked it)! I have tested this game with the official 61.77 drivers plus the beta 62.20. No joy.

I was wondering if it was a driver problem? I used both driver cleaner and a registry cleaning program after removing the ATI card. What's everybody elses performance like in this game?

Cheers!
