Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
that's really warm, but i don't think it's too dangerous. I don't think i've seen my leadtek get above 75c. I haven't had problems though and it idles at about 59c so I haven't looked while in game.
Really warm my arss, those temps are just high, period. Do you have good airflow? is it stock cooling? what drivers are you using?
My 6800GT is idling at 50c normally it is about 3-4 degrees cooler, under a high, heavy load it gets to 65, thats the highest ithas gotten since I installed my zalman.
I would look into those temps a bit more...they are on the high end
Yeah, those temps are quite high. A lot of 6800gts had issues with the hs making proper contact with the core+mem. Are you running it w/out the little mermaid cover thing?
In my opinion, I would spring for the zalman vf700cu to bring those temperatures WAY down just to ensure a longer life for the card. That and better overclocking
It's what I did, and I'm thrilled w/the zalman.
all I did was to have my fans blowing out (side and rear(120mm))
and also the pci slot beneath the Video card, i removed the cover and let air flow in from there
thank GOD, mi card save!!! yippie
no need to buy a Silencer or whatever
congradulations...AirFlow is so very important. Also, if you havent already, I wouldnt put any thermal compound on the rams on your card, I did and it was such a pain in the ass to clean it up.
