6800GT Prices?

[KarmaPolice]

I really dont think they would drop prices ANYTIME soon on the GTs becuase everyone wants one..but does anyone know when they might get around to doing that?

[particle9]

Yup. It is a good thing you asked for I happen to know a thing or two about a thing or two.

Oh wait... no I don't.

My prediction = GT @ 299 May '05

Well, we can probably expect them to be at MSRP ($399) a couple weeks after Doom3 ships, so mid Aug. As for them being $350 or less (you know, what they SHOULD cost) who knows. Christmas? Thanksgiving sales if we are REALLY lucky.

[KarmaPolice]

tehy already are at 399

tehy already are at 399

....at Best Buy..... which doesn't have any......

[darktiger]

They will drop when the 512 cards come out. Prob around XMas season. Just tell everyone to give you a gift certificate to BB or CompUSA....

When the 512mb cards they just might cost more, and everything else stays the same. The whole reason cards are at $499 was when they went to 256mb, like a 9800pro 256mb, and then the 9800XT 256mb was $499. So gone were the days of $399 for the top of the line. I really do hope that top of the line 512mb cards will be $499, but they could just as well end up being $599.

My local CUSA has 6800 GTs instock at zipcode 95350
