Is the 6800gt pcie worth the $150 more I'm looking to build a new system and was wondering Pic e or save some cash Agp? Don't suggest the X800xl overall a weak card.

You can get a PCI-E 6800gt for about $360... I highly doubt you can find an AGP for less than $280. Is it worth the $80? Definitely, if you have an SLI motherboard. The ability to drop another one in there in a year or two when games have progressed will be well worth it. And an added bonus is that the other 6800gt will be much cheaper by then.

Plus, PCI-E is the future. AGP is going the way of the ISA slot.

While this may be true, I need to disagree with the idea of upgrading with another card in another year or two. By then, there will be another directx revision (or whatever is next). Thus, the card you have at the time would not be as useful in the latest games.

Just my $.02.

Another DirectX will be out, but will most games use it? I seem to remember DirectX 9.0 taking quite a long time to get adopted by game designers, which is not surprising given the lead time on most games these days.
PCI-E is still the future. Regardless of SLI, in two years, you likely won't be able to find a decent AGP card. PCI-E will still be kicking though.

[edited SLI is the future -> PCI-E is the future]
