I just got a pny 6800GT for 319.99 at compusa. My sisters friend works there so i gave her a call to ask him if he had any in stock and he did. She asked how much and he said 319.00! woohoo. Cant beat that.....She gonna pick it up tommorrow and it'll be waiting for me when i go visit her in hawaii.

When I worked at a Gatway store, we got 10% off systems and 20% off accessories.
Video cards would be 20% off, 399.99 - 20% = 319.99

So MAB could of gotten it for that price if his sister used her discount.

CompUSA sells the item at cost to employees... I think cost is above 319 for the GT...

Ultras are around 460-470

Cost for most 6800 GT's is $310-$330 depending on the vendor who it was purchased from. PNY I believe was $312 for 1000 unit quantities. Right now its simply demand and price gouging thats making it seem so high.

When my friends worked at compusa we got the xx% off or at cost, whichever was cheaper. With compusa the discount is usually cheaper, they don't have huge margins on PC accessories, they're there to sell software, digital cameras, and now home theatres, not PCs...
