Just wondering, should i downclock my 6800GT clocks for 2D operation? It appears that you can set the 2D and 3D frequencies individually.
 
There is really no point to it, 2D puts no stress on the card to speak of, so it won't really run much cooler in 2D at lower clocks.
 
Cheers for the reply. That was what i was figuring. Was also wondering how accurate the detect optimum frequencies option is. I tried it out and it came back with something like 420 core and 1150 memory. Not sure i dare overclock a £250 video card.
 
also the RAM stays at the same speed no matter if you are in 2d or 3d. But yeah 2d is no bigee at all to the card.
