6800GT 3dmark and rivatuner

i overclocked my 6800gt using rivatuner to 400/1100. when i run a 3dmark2k03 i leave the hardware monitor in rivatuner open. i ran the benchmark and then checked the hardware monitor and my core speed dropped down to 350 shortly after starting the test and then once it was done it went back up to 400. does anyone know why it does this? is it dropping the core speed back down to defaults when i play games as well?
 
Did you set the 2d clock speed to 400, or the 3d clock speed? They are separate now (at least with the 66.00 drivers).

-edit- I ask the question out of experience... :rolleyes:
 
I did the same thing, but I caught on when my non-OC and OC scores were the same.

yea thats why i was wondering what the deal was. now overclocked i get about a 1000 points extra in 3dmark2k03
