6800GS to ATI?

I got a 6800GS and I don't want Nvidia anymore, I want to go back to ATI. I planned on getting a 2900XT/PRO/GT/W.E but seeing as there are barely any dx10 titles out, I'll wait till the next gen. So, I found this card, and would like to know if there would be a noticeable gain in performance. I watch a lot of movies and my 6800GS is giving me a hard time doing so. The only game I play for now is counter strike: source and some mmorpgs.

I used to have a ATI X700 and image quality was nicer imo. Sometimes I'd be watching a movie, anime, trailer and my pc would crash. This started when I updated my drivers recently. Quicktime trailers would lag a lot and I watch trailers from Apple a lot. Sometimes when I would watch anything, the screen would be pink.
 
Right now I would look into comparison of ATi vs Nvidia cards atm.
You might be hitting your head if you don't.
 
that is a good choice. Runs newer games as good as the 8600gts and faster in older games and 512meg frame buffer would surely help you have smoother game play.
