6800 users who Softmodded Need your help

ok I need to figure this out.

I have the Gigabyte 6800 card that is heatpipe cooled. Card does 380/850 fine. I flashed the newest bios which fixed the card and according to Gigabyte makes it the 12 pipe card it actually is but here is where its wierd. before softmod, supposedly at 12 pipes and 5 vertex I get a fillrate in 3dmark03 of just over 3000. After I softmod and rivatuner says i have 16 pipes and 6 vertex I get a fillrate of just over 5000. Now doesnt 3000 fillrate seem more like a 8 pipe and 5000 seem more like a 12 pipe? Could it be the heatpipe soloution is holding the card back? Card idles at 47C and gets to 59C under load according to Gigabytes util. My system is a AMD AthlonXP Mobile 2600+@ 218x11.5 2.5ghz, 1 gig Twinmos pc3200, NF-S version 2.0.

Any healp would be appreciated

Those results for 03 and 05 seem pretty good, what kind of performance increase did you see from going 12p/5vs to 16p/6vs ? im thinking of getting a bfg 6800 oc soon and softmod it like most. let me know on the performance difference. :)

in 3dmark03 I went from 8853 to 10048 after softmod
in 3dmark05 I went from 3500 to 4000 after softmod

dont the scores still seem low if I indeed have all 16 pipes and 6 vertex like rivatuner says
 
No i think 10k is around right for a softmodded 6800 nu, close to GT :) , hows game performance?
 
If you could please :) , i want to know what the increase is between 12/5 and 16/6. pm me with results or just post em if you want.

I do have all 16 pipes enabled and you must also because a friend of mine with his stock 6800 GT and same cpu as mine get a 3dmark05 score of 4100 and I get 4048. Proof for me
 
Awesome, almost like a 6800 GT :) , now if we could add 128mb of vid ram lol

Yes, your CPU is bottlenecking your benchmarking scores.
 
My rig is in my sig...I got the following boosts after softmod:

3dmark 2k3 - Old: 9041 New: 10167
3DMARK2K5:Old: 3465 New: 3948

So, with your results, +1200 in 3dmark 2k3 (the same as I got) and +500 (also the same), I would say it was a success and a normal gain.
 
diablo u should be whipping my scores with an a64 3000+ I only have a AthlonXP 2600+ @218x11.5. shouldnt you?

No...my 3000+ runs @ HTT 200x10 (2GHZ), so I think your extra 500MHz is the difference there ;)
