I was considering getting one of these (cuz i would have major discount with trade for my current video card off of forums)... the card is the BFG 6800GT OC (lame *** overclock lmao)... i was woundering if its possible to unlock the other pipelines (4 others that are already on the card) and make it an ultra... making it so that i would be getting a 6800u instead of gt... my question is:
1. is it possible to unlock the card
2. is there any difference in an unlocked 6800gt and a normal 6800u...

There shouldn't be any pipelines to unlock in a 6800GT since both the Ultra and GT have 16 rendering pipes.
Are you sure you are not thinking of the regular 6800 (aka 6800nu) ? Those have only 12 pipes stock.

Furthermore, many flash their Ultra to a GT to get the tighter RAM timings.
