i want to get the 6800 ultra but i dont know if my PSU can supply enough power for the card. i have an Antec truepower 430watt PSU..ive been hearing that the card needs at least a 480watt PSU and i wont buy the card cuz i just upgraded to this PSU and im not going to buy another one for a new videocard. i have doom 3 and so far its pretty badass. awesome graphics and ive been freaked out quite a bit now :D

that PS is plenty. I have a 6800GT running @ 420 core (400 is ultra speed) and in a shuttle SFF box w/ 250w supply, I have a 3.2 @ 3.6, 1 gig ram, the GT, 2 HD's, etc. and it only draws a total of 227watt on my kill-a-watt meter.

you'll be fine, the power requirements I believe were highly overstated.

Eleventy billion jiggawatts!!!1 Actually from what I've heard it has more to do with the quality of the power supply (12v rail) than actual wattage ratings. I've heard of people running ultra's just fine on high quality 300w power supplies but it wouldn't hurt to get a 450+ watt supply if you have a lot of components running on it (multiple HD's in raid, multiple cd-roms, watercooling etc..)
