Does anybody know where to get these. I know of one place, and it's an eVGA for 600 bucks. Has BFG or anyone else came out with one?

thanks

thanks. So now what's everybody's call. eVGA or BFG?

I would go with the BFG if you have to have one now but personally i would wait and try to get a PCI-E card a little cheaper then $600.

Don't the eVGA Ultras come with a copper heatsink now, while the BFGs still use aluminium? The copper solution should allow for higher average overclocks and lower temps. No lifetime warranty, of course.

Yes they come with copper and if you buy from them direct you get 2 years.(all you need) since few of us keep our cards for more than 2 years. They are clocked the same 425/1100

I love my eVGA 6800 Ultra And yup they come with Copper heatsink and clocked at 425/1100 :p

I just took removed the fan on the BFG 6800 Ultra OC PCI-E I recently aquired and found that they do in fact come with a copper heatsink. I guess you can have your cake and eat it too with both a copper heatsink and a lifetime warranty. :)

I dont mean to Spoil this 6800 fun but for that price (unless you plan to go SLI) I would grab a X850XTPE on New Egg for 99 Dollars more. Just my opinion dont flame me! :D

Posting a 6800UPCIE availability response = pertinent

Posting a suggestion for a lower cost model from the same company , borederline relevant

Posting a suggestion for a higher cost competing card in a thread that specificaly
states 6800Ultra = intellectually challenged

You get a Extra year if you just register your evga card at there website. regardless of which store you purchased it.. ;)

I say BFG.

lifetime warranty, same cooler, same clock, same PRICE.

I was wondering though, would a BFG 6800U work SLi with an eVGA 6800U?

Looking closely, it seems like you might have snapped part of the clip off where the fan power cable plugs into on the board. Could be I'm mistaken as it's difficult to make out in the picture. I snapped that same part on mine when removing the fan. Is there a way to unplug the fan's power without snapping the retaining clip? I struggled for some time without joy.

I was just posting my opinion man no need to get so harsh.

Your correct, there was no need to be so harsh. I appologize

No problem man. Also from What I have heard dont you need Identicle Cards to do SLI? Thats what all the [H]ard Reviews say. Im guessing that a BFG would not work with a eVGA.

Thankfully nothing snapped off and I've already put the fan back on. Just had to take it off long enough to show you guys. :D

My recommendation is don't take your cooler apart because it could damage your card (like you said about snapping clips) and will void your warranty.

Too late - I had to take it off to try an NV5 on there. Warranty already well and truly voided by putting AS5 on the RAM chips as well :D

I'm curious as I'm trying to raise the money to go SLI with twin GTs and maybe NV5s on them. I may have to repeat the fan removing operation in the future and without damaging the cards. Did you just apply steady upward pressure to remove the fan power clip?

AFAIK, SLI requires two cards of the same type but not necessarily from the same manufacturer. Besides, any difference is superficial, and u can always flash both cards to the same bios so that they will be identical for all intents and purposes :D
