Last night I went over to a friends house to do some gaming, when I started up my computer I got a message saying that my video card was running 150c, I checked my water cooling lines for any problems and found none, I also checked to make sure that my pump was working. Every thing checked out just fine, my processor was running ok temps, not overheating like my video card said it was. so I take it out to check it and it looked ok, (now here is where it gets strange) I put it back in and it is still saying that it is way to hot. I touch the video card and then it goes back to its normal temps
(The card never felt hot at all, just cool to the touch),
so my question is, do you think that my video card is going bad or the temp sensor is just acting up?

I was just wondering what drivers you using? Some drivers read the diode temp differently. I think they message you getting is cause of the software seeing that the temp is over threashhold. I would make 100% sure that its not the card overheating....where you touching the card to test temp? Its known for 6800 to get 65C + but 150C is NUTSO.....is this at full load? If so, what is idle temps?

I am using the 66.93's, I think they are the latest official drivers. And yes that was at idle.

But when I touched the video card where the processor is on the back, it wass nice and cool to the touch. But what I thought was strange was when I touched the card on the back near where the power connecter is the temps droped back to normal temps.
