I'm sorry, but the speaker reeeeeally sounded like a nerd. I just wanted him to say "mm-hah glaven" at the end...

Amazing engine though.
 
in the video he said one of the monsters is from one of epics next titles. anybody know what game? :D
 
If I remember correctly we should be seeing UE3 based games late 2005, early 2006. While I will say it does look good, when I see actual gameplay footage then I will be impressed.
 
Going by the ETD of Valve and ID"S Engines Dont expect to see any game base off this engine until the end of next century at least:eek: Unless it gets delayed j/k:p

That was frickin' unbelievable. I love the architecture in the first segment, and the creatures....That one he said had as many polygons as an entire level of the first unreal? haha, that's awesome!

I know your joking around, but the Unreal engine is the only game engine out there that is getting regular updates and we are getting it on our PC's - the HL engine is how old? 5 years? Since 1999, the Unreal engine has undergone a great deal of evolution - in it's various versions it's getting licensed for other games, not just the Unreal series.

So, within a year, we're going to be seeing games based on it, if not "UT2005" - :)

we won't see unreal 3 based games for a while, even Epic says this. this is due both to the massive amount of development work that it takes to make a game that complex, and due to the fact that the hardware base needs to be there. (and atm, the nv40 is the only card that can run the game playably, so there isn't much of a hardware base)

Yeah i gotta admit the Ureal Engine is very sweeet indeed. and yes it was ment as a joke:p of course i wont be around when the R5000 is realised in 3000 :D

That was Tim Sweeny. He is a bit of a nerd, but a VERY VERY rich one that can score with playmates...can you do that?
