I'm in bad need of a video card update, and I was thinking about a x800 XT or a 6800 GT. I don't have money for a 6800 ultra, so what do you guys think would be overall the best?

How much can you get the XT for? And are you willing to OC the GT. If you're gonna OC both cards should cap out at a similar performence plataeu but if you can get the XT for $450 just go for it instead.

The x800 is manufactured by Powercolor, or something, and the 6800 is by Giga-byte. The x800 is about $25, more, which is no problem

you really cant go wrong with either one IMO. I personally have a 6800gt and love it. They OC just fine to Ultra speeds. I mean if you want future technology the only thing the GT really has is the SM 3.0 that the x800's dont have. but sionce no games really use it to any extant its kind of a moot point IMO. In then end it comes down to personal preferance and feature sets. Price is in there somewhere :)

If it's $25 extra and they've actually got stock then go for the XT. Pricewatch shows the XT @ $472 and the 6800GT @ $369 so it sounds like you've got a good deal there! :)
