I have around $250 to upgrade, which is the best card I can get? nVidia this time...

Heh. We have been talking about same question in other thread. If im not mistaken, we got to an answer, that 6800 is a better buy. High clock potencial, 256bit though only DDR1.

I would take 6800.

Yes, if you have 250$, get the 6800, no question asked !

Anyone know where one (BFG 6800 OC) is in stock for a decent price? Outpost.com and Newegg are currently on back order. Outpost has the 6800 OC for 249.99, but they don't expect a shipment till one to three weeks :(.

will this go into effect right at 12 in the morning or would I have to wait longer to order? oh and do you know what the gt will go for? thanks! ;)

Yep I think cusa opens at 6am. A friend and I plan on camping overnite, as he is deadset on getting one. He had this same question 6600GT or 6800 NU, but with a sale like this, the 6800 is the way to go.

6600GT owns all .. lol.. especially if u get the 12 pipelines by unlcking them the card owns the 6800 but im not sure if u could do that.. but ddr3 plus.. its sexy
LOL!

Yout can't unlock pipes in a 6600, it is a different chip, it has 8 piplelines, and 3 vertex shaders. A 6800 has 12 pipelines and 5 vertex shaders. Some cards can be unlock to 16 pipelines, most can be unlocked 6 shaders. At higher res with AA and AF on, the 6800 is better.

Yeah they've changed to 6AM for the holidays. I should know, I work in one part time.

wuts better in 1024X768, the 6600gt or the 6800 , i dont use aa etc.. just highest settings in detail shit and the 1024 and 768

I have eVGA Geforce 6800 NU and i can run my Far Cry at 1600x1200 with High Details, Doom 3 1280x1024 x Ultra Settings without any frame rate drop, I always keep 4x AA ON in all games from Drive settings.
Id say go for Geforce 6800 NU since they got lot of potential for OC and price is sweet.
