Ok...

Someone was blaring about the 6800 NU being better than the 6600 GT.

First of all, the only thing I can find on pricewatch with 6800, is the 6800, 6800 GT, and
6800 LE.

I can't find a 6800 NU - what is a 6800 NU, is it just a different name for the 6800 LE?

And if so, how do they both perform against each other?

no...the 6800nu means Non-ultra...its a way of saying JUST the 6800....one step below the GT...12 pipelines 325mhz core you know...but it gets confusing if u JUST say 6800...so they say 6800nu

The 6800 with no suffix is the nu. Its got almost 8GB/s better memory throughput and its also 256bit vs 128. It is a much better card and newegg sells them, as well as many retailers. Best Buy has them on rebate periodically for $250. They're much more worthwhile than the 6600GT.

not to mention u haev a extremely high chance of unlockin ur extra pipes/shader. its practically risk free and success rate is EXTREMELY high. so another vote for the 6800 NU.

6800 > 6600GT > 6800LE

6800nu means samething as 6800, simple 6800 "non-ultra".

for instance, this is a 6800 or 6800nu:

The 6800 has about the same fillrate as the 6600GT but the 6800 has significantly higher memory bandwidth, plus the 6800 has more vertex shaders than the 6600GT. The 6800LE also has more memory bandwidth than the 6600GT but the fillrate is much, much lower making it significantly a slower card in the end. So go for 6800, then 6600GT, then last if no other option 6800LE.

They really should have made the nu have GDDR3. Even if it was only 128mb. But the good thing is the low latency memory they use on the good quality nu's can be overclocked to well over 800mhz
