just curious.. has anyone seen a nvidia 6800 soft or hard mod to open up the extra pipes. (making it like a GT) not sure if they have been out long enough to even have a mod yet. I was curious if we could do the same thing to the 6800 as ppl did with the 9500 non pro (mod into 9700 and open extra pipes). I assume they are using the same core(6800/6800gt), just closed out some of the pipes and limited clock speed.

I am aware there may be artifacts.. but just wondering if anyone has seen/read/tried anything to open up the extra pipes and clock speeds into getting a plain 6800 into a gt.

its kewl.. i am just looking for the best value for my money, didn't think nvidia would use 2 different pcb's, thought they would go the cheaper route and just use one and limit it for there lower models >.<

isn't that what ppl said about the 9500 np at first.. but then a soft mod came out

It was always on the same PCB, till that happened. This time, the NU is on a totally different PCB from the GT/U

i think it is funny how everyone said that this could not be done.. but now I am reading how riva tunner can open up the extra pipes... I didn't think nvidia would waste money making 2 pcbs instead of just one pcb
