6800 GT cooling Question.

Hey

I have a PNY 6800 GT and using the program- ExperTool I tweaked the fan speed. Before it was set to run in Dynamic. So the fan speed adjusts, I guess according to the temperature or it was set to run at 60 % fan speed in 2D and 100 % fan speed in 3D. I forget, but it does not matter. I changed it so that the fan runs at 100% no matter what?
WIll this cause the fan to "spoil" sooner?

Could you please explain me where you get the friction part?
Do you mean friction in the motor?
And if so- how much am I shortening its life span?

Is this a good strategy?
Shorten the life span but keep the more expensive core running cooler?
 
lol ive never heard of that dude, specs are shipped with the fan at full all the time so i wouldnt worry about it, stock at full all the time should last a few years atleast
 
friction in the fan, yes, it'll shorten the fan's life but lengthen the core's life.
