So I'm playing Doom 3 at 1280x1024 with 2XAA at Ultra quality on my eVGA 6800 GT (stock) and it's running positively fantastic until I walked outside of the airlock and got this

screenshot

Any idea what could be causing this? They move around quite a bit so I figure they are probably dust or wind effect or something but why is it showing up like that?

EDIT: Fixed the link.

Also a note: That picture was pasted with print screen and paint so the quality is shit, but you get the idea. And yes, I realized Doom 3 has a screenshot function.

What the smell... what drivers do you have? Do you overclock..? Anything weird happen in any other games?

Drivers are 61.77... I'm not overclocking and I have not tried any other games.. heh. If I really have to I'll install another game though just to see.

The rest of Doom 3 was running fine though.

Only thing I can come up with is a different driver. Try switching them out, just uninstall them using the add/remove programs. Try the 66.00's or any 65.xx series.

i had the same problem in that exact same spot, till i turned vsync on, then it was fine.
