Good morning.

I am considering buying a 680 windforce but it is 8+6pin and my psu 8pin is already being used by the mobo. Should i buy a 8-6pin adapter or just buy the twin frozr instead? What difference would i have with an adapter instead of the real thing?

Need more details on your rig. What's your PSU? Also, I don't think the 8 pin for the mobo and the 6+2 pin for the GPU are the same at all.

AX750? And only 1 GPU? Then you should have a surplus of 6+2 pins. That PSU has 4 and you only need 2.

the 8 pin for the motherboard is not the same 8 pin for the graphic card, most of the cards come with the adapter molex to 8 pin.

and btw the AX750 comes with the connectors 6+2 pins.... so u dont need the adapter.

Use those cables with the label "PCI-E"

On the end that connects to the graphic card, it consists of 6 pin head and a 2 pin head clipped together to form a 8 pin head

So for the 8 pin socket you plugged in the PCI-E cable connector that's clipped together to form 8 pins, and for the 6 pin socket, un-clip the 2 pin head and you'll have the 6 pin head that will fit into the 6 pin socket on the graphic card.

So, i just connect those 6+2 to the card and the 12pin end to the psu?

You got it! One pcie cable should have two 6+2 pin leads. And you're good to go. Gotta love those modular PSUs.
