6600GT will not run on new setup...

K8N FSR and an A643200. I am not oc'd at all. The 6600GT will not run..just a blank screen. I have tried it in 2 other rigs here and it works just fine. I am running on a Ti4200 right now..it runs just fine in the setup. Any clues???

It doesn't even display a BIOS? Maybe with the TI4200, check out what the AGP Arch is set at (4x/8x) and change it. Not saying that will fix it, but it's worth a shot. If it works in other systems and not this one, I'm clueless.

6600GT does not require a power connector. Takes the power from the MB if the card is PCI-E.

But he has a ti4200 in the same board, so its clearly not.

Theres a few revisions of AGP power specs, that might also be an option in your bios, i think you want 1.5V, but someone else should be able to confirm it.

Also, youve tried both outputs right? I did that when i first got my 6800, for some reason only one out works, unless you have 2 plugged in at boot time.

Yes, I tried both. I had that same deal when I had it in my rig the 1st time. woudl boot on one but not the other. I have treid raising and lowering the AGP v..did nothing for me. I am really stumped on this one.

Is it booting? Easiest way to tell is to plug speakers in and listen for bonging, assuming you have an os. If it is then its definately a videocard problem, but i think thats fairly unlikely if it works in other rigs.

Anyway you can try the psu from another machine? Or, try unpluggin everything bar video and mobo and see what happens.

I purchased a new PSU thinking that could be the problem. Have also tried just the vid card and nothing else. Still no dice. My keyboad and mouse light up when I boot, screen stays black. I just dont get how it works fine in other rigs but not this one..yet other cards work perfectly in it.

You tried flashing the BIOs of your motherboard to the newest one?

Make sure the metal backing (the metal plate that the VGA or DVI connectors are on) of the card is not in contact with the motherboard.
If my 6800 GT is not connected just right I get the same problem.

Back plate is fine, no burnt slot, and I did not try flasing thebios..not sure if that would have mattered...but who knows..this is as odd as it comes.

I RMAd the card today. I am not even sure that will solve it, but I have no clue how 2 other cards work perfectly in the rig and that 6600gt will not.

Will keep you guys updated on this lame as f*ck problem

Hmm...not burnt per se, but maybe a "dead" slot? Hmppf. Computer problems suck.

You may need to push the card on the slot a bit more firmly.

That is why I suggested flashing the BIOS, maybe there was an issue specific with that card for that motherboard that was later resolved in a BIOS release.
