6600GT vs 6800nu

I need a new video card. My motherboard is only an AGP 8x mobo, so the 6600GT is out of the question at the moment. But it will soon be an AGP part too, right? How long until that?

Also, is the 6600GT better than the 6800nu in games at 1280x960 with like 2xfsaa and 4af. I was thinking about a 6800GT, but I just don't game enough to put forth the cash.
The 6600GT will also be significantly cheaper than a 6800nu, right?
 
I don't know about out of the box performance, I couldn't say as I've never seen a 6800NU in action or a 6600GT either. However the 6600 has 8 pipes and the 6800NU has 12. So unless the 6600GT runs at a HUGE clock frequency increase over the 6800NU, the 6800 should outperform it due to having more pipelines.
 
They are actually pretty much neck and neck. Except 6800nu pulls away by little in high resolutions.
 
6600GT suffers at resolutions past 1280 with AA and AF on past 2x .... its faster than a 9800 pro/6800NU/5950U but slower than the GT/etc
 
Once you start to turn on the aa and af at higher resolutions i cant imagine the 6600GT with its 8 pipes and 128bit memory bus being able to keep up with the 6800nu's 12pipes and 256bit memory bus. Still, its a great card for the mainstream who arent so concerend about 4xaa and 8xaf and 1280x1024 or 1600x1200
