I just used the evga step up program to get my 6600gt over my old 5750 and I wanted to know because I found somewhere that the 6600gt has only 8 pipelines.... is there anyway to change that to the 12 pipelines or possibly the full 6800 16 pipelines or is 8 as high as my 6600gt will pipeline wise... I don't want to do any overclocking as I don't want to ruin my card (or its lifespan). If I can enable the pipelines what program can I use to enable them with (softmod) and what kind of performance difference would I actually see in game cause if its just like 5 fps its not worth my time.

kid with the same computer as me:

the 6600gt is built off of the NV45 core , not the NV40, it is only an 8 pipe core, no more and no less (well maybe less), so unless you wanna somehow make new ones, theres no extra ones to be opened. ;)
