6600gt PREVIEW!!!!!!!

that price range got me interested for sure!

I was looking to save for a 6800U or whatever is in that pricerange...however, usually by the time I save that much for a card then something better has come out...

but 150-200 wouldn't be as hard to come by....now only if they made AGP versions :(

Paper launches make me sad :(

I would really like to see how the card preforms on games other than Doom3, its a good game but lets not forget its not the only one out there.

128bit ram b/w = this card sucks, I dont care what it does in doom3.
Not to mention 8 pipes and 128mb ram.

This card isn't very impressive. My 9500 pro has around the same specs, lol.

-128mb of 128bit vram
-8pipes
-4 vertex pipes

True with some excemptions, this device allows scaleability ala SLI, 3.0 shader support, Ultra shadow support, the list goes on...........

well, i get the same fps with my aa on 2x with my 5700 ultra blah lol.

(sarcasm)

agreed.....at least my 6800nu has 12pipes and it performs nicely....but, i'm "stepping-up" to the evga 6800gt

It has 8 pipes and its clocked at 500mhz core
It has 128bit ram but its clocked at 500mhz.
The thing is just barely under the 9700Pro in memory bandwidth.
This thing is impressive as hell, i might just be upgrading.

I think those that say it sucks are missing the big picture. It's gonna smoke any currently available/announced new generation card for PCI-E at the $200 price point AND it gives you an upgrade path via the addition of another card w/ SLI. This is unprecedented for a budget enthusiast/mainstream part.

Features + SLI might make it good for mid-enders but for enthusiasts... it's just mediocre non-sense.

And if it had 256 bit ram it would rock for $200..

I like the price point, but then again, I'm thinking that by the time an AGP version hits the streets in realistic quantities, that the 6800nu's will have dropped enough in price to make that the far better buy.
