6600GT low 3dmark

I recently purchased an XFX 6600gt AGP card. I am only getting a 3dmark 03 score of 5500 and 05 score of 950. Other have siad they have gotten 8000 on 03 and 3000 on 05 right out of the box. Here are my other system specs.
Athlon 64 3200+
Asus k8v se deluxe mobo
1gb corsair twinx3200c2pt

What could the problem be, i about to RMA this thing.
 
Drivers?
Is it running PCI or AGP? Everytime I install a new card it gets picked up as a PCI first.
Check BIOS Settings.

It could be a number of things to tell you the truth...
 
Well I meant check the BIOS to see if it is set as AGP in there.

You also dont need to put anything for the title as a sidenote.

Have you updated the Chipset (I assume for that mobo they are Via?) drivers? I would also put your Vid Card through some test other than that benchmark utility. Actually run a Game. If you are getting nomral FPS then I would just figure the prog is f*ing up. You can try CS:S Video Stress Test. Or D3's TimeDemo. If you are getting normal FPS I wouldnt think too much of silly benchmark test. :)
 
have you changed the clock settings at all? It's easy to mistakenly set your "Performance 3D" settings (should be 500/1000) to the same as the 2D (300/1000). I did this myself first time using rivatuner.

How does that help him?? He said people were getting 8000 and he was only getting 5500...

try right clicking on the desktop, the properties, then settings, then advanced, then Geforce 6600gt and it should show everything right there

my asus 6600gt is getting 3200 3dmark05...everything stock

Hrm, for some reason, my friend experienced the same thing with his xfx 6600gt. His card was 3d-clocked out of the box, @ 300mhz. I dont know why, but he clocked it to default settings with coolbits and it works flawlessly as expected. I dont know ihs 3dmark scores since he doesnt use it and neither do I.
 
thoes XFX cards are junk..iv heard alot of crap about it....
 
Via drivers used to have to be installed in "Turbo" mode to enable faster speeds of AGP.

Get hold of Sisoft's Sandra. That may be able to determine why settings aren't running at their quickest.

Mine's working fine. Running at 570/1150 for better than a month now, not a single problem to report. Seems from all the posts I've read around here, there are just as many people with good things to say as bad.
