System Summary:

MB: Soyo KT400 Dragon Platinum
CPU: XP3000+
Mem: 1GB Corsair XMS PC3200
GPU: AGP MSI 6600GT
PSU: Enermax 550 watt
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

I replaced my old AIW8500 with a MSI 6600GT and now I have 2 problems.

1) I turn the computer on and the monitor doesn't receive an input. I have to power down and back up again 2-3 times and then magically the monitor will turn on. I have a CRT so I tried the VGA connection and the DVI connection with adapter and it does the same thing on both. (Are these called VGA and DVI plugs?) I do have power to the vid. card molex.

2) I don't know exactly how long it takes, but when the computer sits idle for a few hours it freezes up on the Windows screensaver forcing me to do a hard shutdown.

Used driver cleaner for all the ATI drivers before I installed the GF card. After installing the card and booting up I installed the drivers from the Nvidia site (66.93). I have all the latest drivers for my MB and all the latest windows updates.

Any help would be much appreciated. I love the card, but could do without the problems.

Your hardware is bad, or bad hardware combination... try swaping your stuff

I experiened the same issue with my 6600gts for the last 12 hours, ever since i went witha beta b ios on the mobo. I finally got up and running long enought to downlaod the previous bios and reflashed it. I am rock solid again.
