mm first post

was directed here from techimo

anyways,

im getting a 6600gt (dont argue with me, thats what im getting)

but now i have a brand choice. id like to go with xpertvision because they have the cheapest card AU$266

but they also use infineon ram instead of samsung, which is why i like the albatron $310

but then again, i havent heard much about either of these brands. dont even suggest xfx because they have crap customer service and they dont make their cards with the 1.6 samsung anymore

so what do you suggest?

keep in mind im looking for something as cheap as possible, so im steering well clear of bfg (despite the fact the bfg is awesome ;) )

also, some of the brands you have in America arent avaliable to us here in Australia

well, thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out here

Happy easter!

check out anandtech ,they did a huge review of the 6600gt and like all different brands of them and which ones perform best

yeah, i already looked at that

they neglected to mention the xpertvision however

If the albatron has Samsung memory, then it should work as well as the more expensive brands. Most comparison reviews are aimed at the "hardcore" users who will pay extra for the name. I've got the chaintech 6600gt and haven't had any problems. From the 2 choices listed, go with the Albatron, If only for the memory. Just make sure whoever you buy it from is good with returns (a given for ANY hardware.)

mm, to get parts i have to order all of them online, there arent alot of retail places where I live which stock higher-end parts (or for that matter, any parts) at descent prices

its that tiny little island off the bottom of Australia. and yes, people do actually live there :p
