Good upgrade from 5900XT? Thoughts? Can't afford a 6800GT, but would really love to lol. Or should I just stick with my 5900XT...

6800 NU for $200 on sale? Or a 6800 NU for maybe $250 w/o a sale?
How much do you want to spend? I wouldn't really aim below a 6800 NU. A higher quality card now will last longer into the future and provide a more pleasant gaming experience.

The cheapest 6800NU i can find is ~$370CAD. There's a sale going on for a 6600GT that will be ~$260CAD. Hm...

6600GT would be a big upgrade from the 5900XT in DX9 games, large but less big in OpenGL. 6800nu would be a huge upgrade across the board, I'd go for that if you can afford it. If you can't then go for the 6600GT AGP, as it will be a dramatic improvement in games based on the FarCry and HL2 engines.

Ummm where are these $200 6800nu cards, i doubt they exist

Well the only 6800 from compusa is from PNY<-- Bad Bundle.

6600 is only marginally better than a 5900. 6800 has bunk vpu.( all of them)

If this is for gaming, I'd save the money and get a 6800gt, x700, or 6800 vanilla in that order. Best buy has The BFG cards on sale regularly and they come bundled with farcry or doom3 or evenboth ( really rare). I have a vanilla 6800 and I'm happy, but i only game with it.

it sucks you didn't get to jump on the $249 AR deal on the 6800oc. I bought that bundle and it's a freaking awesome card, i love it. It runs all the games i play awesomely, i would recommend it if your strapped for cash.

get the 6600gt if u can't find a good price on the 6800nu.. there really is no big difference between these two.. only like 5fps difference sometimes more and sometimes non at all...... but with the 6800nu theres a great chance of getting the unlocked pipelines...

Once anti-aliasing is turned on, the difference between the 6800 and 6600GT becomes considerably larger: review

Nice OC on that 2700 ram, too bad the timings weren't able to be lowered. Still nice.

Btw 6800nu/x800 at least.

6800nu is only slightly faster than 6600GT.. and the 6600GT's are supposed to OC very well so could possibly even end up on top.. Of course you have the chance to mod the 6800nu for the extra pipes, then it would be well ahead.

not only extra pipes but 256-bit memory bus on the 6800nu compared to the 128-bit bus on the 6600GT. this is why the 6800nu beats up on the 6600GT when AA/AF is enabled at high resolutions.
