Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The GeForce 6600 and 6600GT are both 8 pipe cards, so there is nothing extra to unlock to make it a GT. The only difference is core/mem clock speeds. Most 6600's will hit 600MHz core (that of the GT) pretty well, but the 1GHz memory is hard to hit as the GT uses GDDR3 which allows for higher clocks.
sounds good my friend just bought one and wanted to see what hte main diff between a 6600 and a 6600gt were. only clocks i see. ill tell him to push it
not 'only clocks'. The GT is using a completely different type of memory to get those clocks. There are very few cases where somebody is able to get 6600s memory up to 6600GT speeds.
Still, you should be able to get a really good overclock on the core +)
