im building a new system for christmas and i want to get the 6600 apg. the 6600gt is more than i can spend on a gfx card, so my question is will there be a regual 6600 agp(non gt version)? if so does n e one know when it should be released?

IVe seen the 6600GT AGP for around 240. I know you can get a 6800nu for around 250 if you look around. Not sure what the difference would be between a 6600GT and 6800nu. Outpost has the BFG 6800oc for 249.99. If you have around a $200 limit you can get a 9800 Pro 128 meg (256bit) but make sure its not an atlantis (128bit).

$200 or less, unless other components im buying drop in price. if i cant get this i will probably get the 9800 256 bit. i was really hoping that a 6600 agp would be released.

There will be no 'plain' 6600 AGP, according to Anandtech.

On the OTHER hand...only 2 months after release, the PCI-E version of the 6600GT has dropped down to $180 shipped. If your timeframe is "by Christmas"....the AGP version might well be down around there, too.

(In any case, you really don't want the nu version - it really is only about as fast as a 9800xt...the clocks are REALLY LOW on it compared to the GT...300 core/500 mem vs 500 core/1000 mem)

I just bought my 6600GT AGP from tiger direct (one of their walk in locations)

they have it for $220+tax. awesome card, although as you can tell in my sig, i need to upgrade the rest of my components to fully experience it.

Ive been told the 6800nu is faster then an XT.. I know its a good amount faster then the 9800 pro. I had planned on going with an XT but was hard to find them for under 300$. Mine at 239.99 was hard to pass up.
