650W Enough For This New Rig

Building a new rig looking for power supply input.

Specs mainly:

Core i5 ivy Bridge 3570K
Asus P8Z77-V Mobo
EVGA GTX 670 (4GB or 2GB model, haven't decided yet)
256GB SSD
16GB RAM

No SLI
No real plans for overclocking

Is 650W PSU enough? Does this leave me any room for SLI setup in the future?

Many thanks,
Detox

670 SLI would be no problem for a good quality 650W PSU. You would not be likely to use much more than half of that PSU's power at full load.

Should be fine. I'm running:

i5-2500k
P8P67 Pro
2x SSD
2x 1TB HDD
8GB RAM
MSI 670 OC

on 550w.

You're looking at anywhere from 300-375 watts max with that setup. Go with a quality 650 and you will be good ;)

Not to threadjack, but thanks for these responses - I'm running a similar rig and hope to sli two gtx 670's on an 850w. Cheers

The rig in my sig only pulls 375 from the wall during Crysis 2. Yours should pull less than that. Buying a Kill-A-Watt really opened my eyes to how crazy some people are with their PSU suggestions.

The 6xx series is so efficient for its power versus the previous generations of Nvidia cards, and I.B. is so efficient for its power, so that P.S.U. has headroom!

The main system in my sig (i7-2600K, GTX 680) is running off a 400W Enermax PSU with no issues. 650 is more than plenty.

geforce, is your 680 overclocked and/or of a non-reference version P.C.B.?
