65.56 drivers @ guru3d

Installed them and I saw a slight performance boost in the beta im currently testing, haven't yet to try any other titles.

The 65.xx drivers are supposed to bring a marked performance increase across the board with Geforce 6 series GPU's. I'm going to try these later today...

omg, these drivers are awesome. I went from 50.1fps on the timedemo to 54.7fps in Doom3 (settings are 1280x1024 high 4xAA/8xAF). I'm definetly sticking with these drivers, they are fast.

i'm less impressed since I play at 1600x1200:

65.56/61.77 no hacks or tweaks
1600x1200 Ultra 61.0/63.0 -2fps
1600x1200 High 63.4/65.6 -1.8fps
1024x768 High 88.7/84.6 +4.1fps
800x600 Medium 91.7/85.0 +6.7fps
640x480 Low 91.8/85.0 +6.8fps

The 1024/800/640 increases are incredible since I was basically CPU limited to ~85fps before.

Strangely, the humus hack runs about 2fps faster in 1600x1200 Ultra than in 61.77, but is still around 10% slower than the default shader.

One last thing: r_usedepthboundscheck 1 (ultrashadow) seem to do nothing now in 65.56. In 62.20 it gave about a 2% boost in lower resolutions, but the scores in 65.56 are virtually identical enabled or disabled.

Not much of a gain...but a gain none the less ;)

I've installed them and got a 100 point increase in 3dmark03. And they are as stable as the 61.77's were.

i also got about a 100 point increase (11934 -> 12042) in 3dmark03.

Far Cry and UT2004 still work, too. ;)

Does anyone know when the drivers that do something with the encoding chip are coming out?

Hmm, Just noticed something... I installed my driver correctly (using Driver Cleaner 3) and yet the 65.62's are using 61.77's for nview.dll, nvshell.dll and nvwdmcpl.dll. Anyone else see this?

These things totally tanked my 3dMark03 scores but Doom 3 is running faster than ever. I'm gonna go with the real gameplay and keep them for now.

6800 Ultra, Leadtek at stock speeds ... my 3dMark2k3 score went up 40 points, Aquamark score went up just over 100 points. Curiously, my card is running cooler now, but that can't be from the driver lol

I just uninstalled the 61.77s and installed the Guru3D drivers. I noticed the same thing. My 3dMark2K3 did drop by about 300 points, but everything else seems to be running better. My Doom 3 Demo1 went up by about 5FPS and looks just as good if not better than the 61.77s. UT cranked itself up a little and my OpenGL problems (changing resolution locking, exiting locking) are gone. In reference to another post, my temps also seem to be a little bit lower when stress testing with rthdribl.exe. I'm sure nVidia is probably about to release new driver, but until they do, these are staying on my machine.

i have them installed and running... I was having an issue where UT2k4 would become corrupted when running at 1600x1200 at 75Hz. These fixed that. But my texture issue is still there in far cry (more info here ).

I haven't tried running 3dmark2k4 since I upgraded to the 65.62s (before it was 10,800), but now I can exit opengl games without having to end task, and D3 screenshots are now working. However, I still get random crashes to desktop.

About the D3 screenshots, they used to look like this
doom3fuckedup.jpg

Upgrading my drivers fixed the screenshots as well as increased performance in D3, but is it possible something is wrong with my 6800 GT?

These drivers gave me about 3FPS more in Far Cry at 16x12 Ultra High 4xAA 8xAF. Another 5FPS in D3 at 16x12 Ultra 8xAF.

Batman, I hate to sound like a dick, and I'm really not trying to, as many people can be. However, so you don't get talked to or banned, from the rules:
22) No active links, graphics, cussing or advertising allowed in the SIGNATURE. Sig line is limited to 10 lines total as viewed @ 800 x 600 resolution or no more that 15 words per line.
Just trying to help.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll change it now.

I also forgot to mention that the Nalu and Clear Sailing demos now run on my computer (HP Pavilion A500n with crippled can't change the AGP Aperture Size BIOS). They would just lock up with the 61.77s.
