I'm looking to buy an SSD for my new notebook, and I'm looking at 64/60GB models since they're cheaper and I don't need storage on the boot drive anyway. I'm particularly looking at the Samsung 830 and Intel 520 since those seem to be the fastest, but I can't really seem to tell by numbers if the 520 is really worth the $40 premium in price. Also, are the 6xGB drives really that much slower? If so, would it be better to just jump to 128 for the speed?

m4 on sale today at buy.com for like $85. That's your best bet.

For the speed question: it depends on the specific drive architecture (i.e., the controller/memory layout/etc.) For some drives the larger drive will be faster than its smaller sibling. In other cases, there's no difference. It really depends on the particular drive. For the Crucial M4 drives, it looks like there's a sizable hit in rated write speeds, not so much in the read speeds. Depends on what you can afford.
