im trying to decide what would be better for a HTPC\file\media server, I have it set up to stream live tv to a 360 in my bedroom.. I'm learning more towards the 6450 because it's cheaper and uses maybe 20wts less at idle.. but for a small 15-20 bucks more you get 320 more SPs and twice the memory bus 64 vs 128 ..both options i'm looking at are passive cooled..i think my ATI 650 tuner probably does most of the decoding work for the recording/tv streaming anyways? so a basic model would be good enough right? so..? should I save my 20 bucks for some beer and smokes and get the 6450 :p or should i just buy the 6570 because faster=cooler?

geforce gt430 is a good choice for a htpc nvidia's control panel is a bit better than ati's, i always forget where their overscan settings are. check amazon there is an asus card $60 plus $20 rebate if you want to bother

I was thinking of going the green route and getting a gt 430 but compared to the 6570 i dont see the point? these review sites call the 430 a "HTPC king" which i don't get because for the same price it consumes more power and isn't as great of performer as the 6570 although they probably wrote the article when there was no such thing as the low-end 6 series lol. and your right i do like nvidia's drivers alot better then ATI's (or amd whatever you call them lol ) thanks for the tip :)
