Alright guys, I aquired (for free) a 633MHz Celly HP, I need to know what the button is to enter BIOS upon booting up so I can change CD to boot 1.

Or actually, I'm upgrading from WinME to WinXP, I haven't ever 'updated', I always just format then install again. Will this 'upgrade' clear all the shit the previous owner had on it before? Or does it just update the OS and keep everyhing that was on it?
 
Well aint hat a bitch, so.. How can I get to the bios since it won't clean anything?
 
Actually, if your hit the "esc" key on most hps of that era during the splash screen. It'll pop up with an option after the POST to select the boot device or to enter Setup. IF that does not work SWAG it! Actually, I think entering the BIOS on those HPs is F2
 
Post the model number, and I can try to find out for you. But, I am almost certain it will be one of the F keys.
 
Alright guys, sorry I didn't post back last night, was a little busy. Found out it was F1. Anyway, here are the stats:

633MHz Celeron
Some cheapass HP Mobo
512MB PC133
Old Sony DVD Drive
40GB HDD (didn't bother to look at brand or anything)

Runs like a CHARM! Plays MP3's and DVD's with NO problem. Originally, it was my mother-in-almost-law's, but she made me make her a new one because this one was 'too slow'. lol, what a joke, when I booted it up, the only thing that was fucked up about it was the double click option was too 'fast'. So, to open a folder you would have to rigth click and press open. Anyway, I'm not complaining, I earned $25 and a kickass CarPC!

Don't be fooled by marketing hype over wattage. If it's a good PSU and can handle the load by the system, then it's fine. One of the reasons we put the smaller PSUs in a case are to control the heat and cost. People used to complain about the PSUs in Shuttle PCs...but they learned.
 
The one in the case IS a 100W :D

I hope it will be ablt to handle 4 fans and 2 cathodes. :-X if not i'll just have to get my 2nd 100W PSU in there to make up the difference.

Edit: By the way, is that possible to do without a motherboard? (use a PSU just for fans + cathodes?)
 
You sure that's not just 100W on the +3.3 and +5v rails combined? I thought that's what mine was (an IBM Aptiva with a 450MHz K6-2) but it's really a 145W unit. I've popped in a 200W from Fry's since then.
