Are there any people here who came from an athlon 64 to a 6300? How is the difference in gaming performance? I don't want benchmarks but personal experience. How well does the 6300 oc on air? I plan on using conroe in a SFF system so i must know this

Dude i have seen the power of the E6300 and i had a venice before this but also had a Pentium D at 4.2ghz , the raw power conroe has to offer can not be matched , it works on such efficient clocks that even when its on load it only makes 4c difference , it is really amazing core , i would advise people to throw there venices in the bin and buy the conroe, actually no i think i have gone too far with the binning of the processor. :D

Supercool conroe.

The differnce in temps on load will tell you that overclocking on air is good enough.

i upgraded from an Opteron 165 dual-core running at 2.4Ghz....gaming is noticeably faster, as well as general smoothness...eg the visualiser of iTunes..

i hope to see mATX conroe mobos soon. There are a few out but their ocing capabilities are nonexistant. One thing that bothers me about conroe is the temps. For having a 65nm core, the temps seem quite high.
