Is there a regular 6200 supporting SLI? If there is can you unlock the other 4 pipes and run em in sli, getting performance of two 6600 in sli. that is like a 6800gt performance for 200 bucks.

Yes. It isn't practical at all for anything less than 6600GT's in SLI. Personally, I don't even think 6600GT's in SLI is practical but what the hey.

Those pieces of garbage wouldnt be close to a 6800GT, even if softmodded to a 6600 (which is far cry from the performance of the 6600GT). They would be close (MAYBE) to a 6800NU, which is just impractical. Might as well get one 6800NU and if it's unlocked, oh god 6200 sli could never ever keep up.

Oops, they kinda forgot about that one! LOL Thats why you'll never have SLI 6200's, no manufacturer in their right minds is gonna put a SLI connector on a 6200. *Crosses fingers that manufacturers are in their right minds*

was sniffin around the net after reading about a) how 6200's can be softmodded to 6600's and b) how well they can be overclocked from 300mhz to around 450mhz core with around the same increase in the memory overclock. made me start to think that they would make a good cheap SLI soution for around $160

but of course, the problem is to find a 6200 with an SLI connector, right? well, after more sniffin around i found some pages that indicate there will be 6200's with SLI connectors coming!

It shows that there's at least one manufacturer bringing a 6200 SLI to market (Colorful, though they dont have any 6200's on their English website). Check the Chinese site and you can see they sell 4 different 6200's. One of them must be the one from the review above, and NewEgg's Chinese site is selling a PCI-e 6200 from Colorful here.

Just thought i'd bring this info up as it seems there are people who dont believe they exist.

PCIE 6800NUs don't unlock, they are 12 pipe, 5 VP nV41 chips

It depends on the game. Two 6600GTs are faster at Halo 4X8X, and faster at Half Life 2 and Doom3 4X16X. They're also faster at 20X15 16X at Far Cry and several other games.

I have 6600GT SLI and 6800GT SLI and agree with these sites. 6600GTs get bad press in forums and deserve better,

Well, i do wonder what sort of numbers it would throw out. You'd have to unlock it and overclock it. Currently 6200s with 128mb ram are going for €65.

On the other hand, are two 6200's unlocked to 6600 levels and overclocked, gonna overpower one 6800? The 6800LE/128 goes for €180 here and the normal 6800/128 (and 6800LE/256) goes for €250 (€300 for the 6800/256) I reckon they would, so for €130 (and some SLI connector) you could have quite a budget machine.

overclocked you are nearing 6600GT specs. I would know because I just RMA'ed it to newegg because I got a cheaper card that suits my needs.

My card unlocked to 400//700. It did 450//700 but thats pushing it with stock fan

they go for about 60-90 used (t. So yeah, if they do come with SLI connector, it would be a great deal.

brand new, you're better off buying a better card.
